5 Days With God: Stories From My Life to Yours

Five Days with God: Stories from My Life to Yours is a 5-day devotional designed to encourage, inspire, motivate and give you hope using stories from my life. There are times when we think God has forgotten about us and we think He has favorites—and it’s not until we read or hear about how God moved in someone else’s life that we begin to realize that if God did it in their life, then He can do it mine.

God doesn’t have favorites; He loves us all. He wants us to trust Him, to have faith in Him and know that He will do what He says, to believe Him and His Word and trust that He knows exactly what’s best for us. Many times, we lose hope when life doesn’t go as planned; we begin to doubt God when things happen that we have no control over; andsometimes we lose faith in God because we didn’t get what we wanted, when we wanted it.

In this devotional, I’m using my life to encourage you, to inspire you, to give you hope that God is in control—He knows what you need, He knows when you need it, and He knows exactly what He’s doing in your life. Your job is to trust God in the midst of everything that is happening and not lose hope when things don’t go as planned. My prayer is that you don’t lose hope, your faith is increased, and you begin to trust God more after reading Five Days with God: Stories from My Life to Yours.

Faith Full Retirement: The Woman’s Guide to Finding Joy in Her Later Years

Need a faith based book to start planning for retirement? Going deeper in your faith will help you make the right decisions, find your passion and purpose or learn how to forgive, forget and let it go. Too much stuff? The book also includes a system to de-junk most anything. How about getting your finances in order? Yes, that’s in there, too: The 10 Step System to organize your finances while building a firm financial foundation. Hi, I’m Jan Elliott, and I flunked retirement. By that I mean I was not emotionally or financially prepared for the biggest transition of my life. My husbnd retired and I followed his lead. Without much of a plan, I moved too quickly. I became resentful, angry, moody and even depressed. After hitting those bumps in the road to retirement, I received divine intervention to go deeper in my faith, to trust God again with my life, my marriage, and my retirement plan. Come take this journey with me as I give you my best tools, tips and resources to help you find that joy in your later years. There are 10 chapters: Five deal with getting it right on the inside and five to get it right on the outside. Getting it right on the inside includes: a new identity, a positive mindset, using your fruit-filled basket, letting your passion lead you to your purpose, and using the tips and stories to let it go once and for all (and much more). Getting it right on the outside includes a chapter on money, where I highly encourage you to make sure you have your own financial plan. What if you are alone? or alone again? You must know and understand money. Downsizing and de-junking is also critical in finding joy in your later years—as is your appearance, your happy home, and your on-going relationships where family and best friends are also keys to finding that joy. Be sure and check out the journal that goes with the book to jot down your things to do. It is also a great place to record the many quotes in the book to lift you up and encourage you along the way. I would love to take you on this journey with me as you prepare for your best life yet.

The Art of Brave Living

Most of us don’t consider our lives or ourselves brave. We go through the day and we live our lives and don’t consider anything about that particularly special. We are who we are.

But every time we take a little detour in the path we walk in order to be true to ourselves, we’re being brave. Every time we step out of our comfort zone, we’re being brave. Every time we stare rejection in the face and still move forward, brave is giving us the strength. Every time we push through a crisis, provide a shoulder to lean on, or reach out a helping hand, we show the world what brave looks like.

Brave is a mother who lives with the knowledge that each moment, death stalks her children. Brave is walking beside a loved one as they’re wheeled into surgery, knowing that you may never see them or talk to them again. Brave is holding the hand of a child with cancer and presenting a picture of strength when all you want to do is crumple before God and cry.

Brave is painted in the face of a wife fleeing her abuser, in the journeys to a foreign land, in the decision to pursue a career when everyone is telling you it can’t be done, in walking obedient to God in providing ministry to others who are in need or hurting. Brave is standing on trembling knees, with fear waiting to devour you, and refusing to cower any longer.

The Art of Brave Living takes us through the stories of remarkable women who found their brave. These stories aren’t about one journey, but a lifetime of choices and decisions that empower them with strength and purpose. They help us see that each time we meet life’s challenges head on with dignity and grace, even if we’re in tears, we mastering the art of brave living. Their stories inspire us to recognize and embrace the brave that stands before us in every decision we make.

10 Tips on How Not to Talk to Your Children about Sex

Audrey Werner, a former sex educator and then STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) Clinic nurse, was challenged to look into the origins of sex education; including a popular Christian sex education program called “The Learning about Sex” series.  What she found was a man by the name of Alfred Kinsey, leaders of Planned Parenthood—the world’s leading abortion provider—and financial backing of those in the pornography industry.  Through twenty years of research and interviews, Audrey has not only compiled the facts about the origins of sex education, but she gives parents the tools to raise pure children in this sexualized culture. Audrey provides a powerful tool to help equip any parent, faith leader, or individual who is concerned with reducing teen pregnancy and venereal disease rates, as well as eliminating sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
